  10. Dear Suzanne… my heart goes out to you. I know those emotions all too well. No matter your decision, Izzy knows you love her and she will forever love you in return. You are stronger than you know, and you will do whatever you have to do. I’ve had similar worries about my Aspen all week, but he seems to have turned a corner (hopefully not just a medication induced fake corner).
    > The meatloaf looks scrumptious. I signed up on the site so i could vote for you.
    Hug, hug, hug!

Oh – we are with you as you struggle to make the best decision for Izzy. I was with Bernie and Mollie as they had their dear Howie put to sleep last week. All of a sudden he was crying out in pain. The decision was clear and painful but now everyone is at peace with it. Howie had the best life possible. It was strange that Zoie hadn’t eaten for 3 days before that {Mollie says she was on a hunger strike because she knew what was coming}. When we got back without Howie she ate her first dinner. She was OK with the decision too.
Bernie and I both had a vision of our brother Tony {a great dog lover} calling to Howie to come to him.
May you be at peace knowing that you have given Izzy the best possible life.
    Love,
    Maria

    • Thanks Maria, I am so sorry to hear about Howie. It is the most difficult decision to make because we want them to stay with us but also cannot watch them suffer. What a wonderful vision, I know Tony is playing with Howie in heaven.

  41. Oh Suzanne, I just read your previous comment response and I am so, so sorry. I relate to how you’re feeling right now and I am sending you love and hugs across the seas during this difficult time. Izzy and Nando have had a special place in my heart as part of your blog family. You have provided so much love and support to both of them during their health issues, it’s been a full-time job! Despite the gap that she’s left behind, I am glad that Izzy is now free of pain and other difficulties. I bet that she’s gnawing on a beautiful big marrow bone in heaven. As for the meatloaf, congrats to you beautiful!!! It’s an amazing recipe and I am glad that Food 52 have recognised that! Good luck!! P.S wish I could be there to give you a real hug xx
