My Meatloaf Is A Finalist On Food52!
I am thrilled and honored to be a finalist in the contest “Your Best Dinner That Makes A Good Lunch”. I love this meatloaf recipe l it’s simple and straightforward. I am keeping this post short and sweet as my happiness for being named a finalist is overshadowed by grief and worry, My sweet Izzy is very very ill and I have to make a very difficult decision. Click here to vote and here to check out Food52. Thank you so so much. I really appreciate it.
So happy and sad for you Suzanne, keeping both you and Izzy in my thoughts and prayers.

That’s so exciting! It looks delicious and isn’t meatloaf just the perfect comfort food? I’m so sorry about Izzy. Sometimes the hardest decisions are the most selfless ones. Thinking of you….

Thank you, the contest results coincided with Izzy’s passing and it’s very hard for me to separate the two. I am very grateful and happy about it but it’s overshadowed with grief.
Oh my heavens I know how you feel!!! I am thinking about you and the Babe! Cheryl Ps I voted!!!
Thank you so much, much appreciated.
Happy for your recipe selection so hearty congrats for that dear Suzanne…
But feel sad about Izzy… even my dog back home is very very ill he is given 6 bottles of glucose today. … its terrible to see them suffer like this. …….:(
Chitra, thank you so much. It’s hard to see them suffer and hard to let go. Thank you for the kind words.
First congrats. Second, so sorry you are going through this with your pug. It’s so hard.
Thank you so much,
This is great news! Congratulations. I have voted on for you! On another note, I am so sorry to hear about your beloved Izzy. Prayers for healing and peace.
Thank you so much Michelle.
Dear Suzanne… my heart goes out to you. I know those emotions all too well. No matter your decision, Izzy knows you love her and she will forever love you in return. You are stronger than you know, and you will do whatever you have to do. I’ve had similar worries about my Aspen all week, but he seems to have turned a corner (hopefully not just a medication induced fake corner).
> The meatloaf looks scrumptious. I signed up on the site so i could vote for you.
Hug, hug, hug!
Thanks so much Teagan, really appreciate the kind words.
Done. Voted. Suzanne, just the shot in the butt you needed! Now are you inspired? Congratulations my friend!!!!!!!!!
Thanks so much Sue, it did inspire me.
Many congratulations on your meat loaf, but more importantly, know that I’m thinking of you and your darling Izzy. 😦 😦 Hugs.
Thank you so much on both counts.

congratulations, Suzanne! ‘Tis the season for meatloaf and yours looks wonderful.
Thanks so much Liz.
Oh – we are with you as you struggle to make the best decision for Izzy. I was with Bernie and Mollie as they had their dear Howie put to sleep last week. All of a sudden he was crying out in pain. The decision was clear and painful but now everyone is at peace with it. Howie had the best life possible. It was strange that Zoie hadn’t eaten for 3 days before that {Mollie says she was on a hunger strike because she knew what was coming}. When we got back without Howie she ate her first dinner. She was OK with the decision too.
Bernie and I both had a vision of our brother Tony {a great dog lover} calling to Howie to come to him.
May you be at peace knowing that you have given Izzy the best possible life.
Love,
Maria
Thanks Maria, I am so sorry to hear about Howie. It is the most difficult decision to make because we want them to stay with us but also cannot watch them suffer. What a wonderful vision, I know Tony is playing with Howie in heaven.
I’m so sorry to hear about Izzy. She will be in my prayers. A bittersweet congratulations for your meatloaf.
Thank you so much Sharon.

Regardless of your decision I’m nearly certain you couldn’t have cared more for Izzy. It’s such a difficult one, and glad that I didn’t have to make that decision with the only dog I’ve ever had whilst growing up. Wish you well.
As for the meatloaf! Must go and vote.

I have bookmarked your meatloaf recipe as I want to make one as the weather gets cooler. Pure comfort food and your recipe looks delicious.
Thank you so much Cindy, if you make it I hope you like it.
Oh Suzanne, I just read your previous comment response and I am so, so sorry. I relate to how you’re feeling right now and I am sending you love and hugs across the seas during this difficult time. Izzy and Nando have had a special place in my heart as part of your blog family. You have provided so much love and support to both of them during their health issues, it’s been a full-time job! Despite the gap that she’s left behind, I am glad that Izzy is now free of pain and other difficulties. I bet that she’s gnawing on a beautiful big marrow bone in heaven. As for the meatloaf, congrats to you beautiful!!! It’s an amazing recipe and I am glad that Food 52 have recognised that! Good luck!! P.S wish I could be there to give you a real hug xx
Thank you so much Laura, I really appreciate your kind words. I am so so grateful to have the support of my friends right now. Thank you.
