A wonderful serenity has taken possession of my entire soul, like these sweet mornings of spring which I enjoy with my whole heart. I am alone, and feel the charm of existence in this spot, which was created for the bliss of souls like mine. I am so happy, my dear friend, so absorbed in the exquisite sense of mere tranquil existence, that I neglect my talents. I should be incapable of drawing a single stroke at the present moment; and yet I feel that I never was a greater artist than now.
Oh, that looks like the most delicious beef ever, Suzanne. You’ve become a great photographer too. Anyway, I wish I were even half as good of a cook/chef as you. Mega hugs!
Thanks Teagan, I get lucky with photo’s sometimes but I am actually a terrible photographer. You are too kind.
Nononooo… Your photo shows the food well, the composition is both interesting and well balanced. What you’re calling “luck” is a great eye.
Thank you! :o)

This sounds like a great main course! I’ve never made it, but after looking at the ingredients in it, I think I would love it!
It’s so good Nancy. Great hearty winter/Fall meal. Thank you so much.
– A masterpiece, dear Suzanne! I appreciate dishes that take care and due diligence to fuse the taste through selection of ingredients, cooking methods, heat control and time to meld. I can imagine the fragrance, flavor and texture of this fabulous boeuf bourguinon. Bravo! 🙂
– Stefano’s talent in wine pairing is evident by the praise he receives. 🙂
Thank you so much Fae!
Boeuf Bourguinon looks tempting! ! I’ve never tried it, but I really love the ingredients! I love your picture!

What a perfect fall recipe, Suzanne! And I absolutely love the setting in your picture- it is so inviting!
Thank you so much the picture was in my backyard. I lucked out it looks so nice as a background.
Hi Suzanne! Guess what is on the stove simmering? Yes! This Beef Bourguignon! It smells amazing and the whole thing came together with ease. I can’t wait for 6 o’clock this evening to have a nice bowl of this goodness. 🙂 I have a question. When do the mushrooms come into play? I’ve read through the post several times and I don’t see it…I have a nice bunch of mushrooms ready to add! Thank you! I love this recipe.
Oh no I forgot to mention the mushrooms. I salute and add at the end with the vegetables. Sauté whole. Will correct now. Oh I can’t believe I forgot that.

I corrected the post, the mushrooms are sauteed in a little bacon fat while the carrots and onions are roasting.
Sounds great! Yum. Thank you for getting back to me…
Boeuf Bourguinon is one of my favourite meals. I must make it again soon. 😊
Thank you so much it is wonderful and now with cooler weather it’s the perfect meal.
Did I mention that it looks superb? 😘
Thanks you so much Francesca!

I never heard of an Angel Pie. I have to look that up. I also love chocolate!!
This looks so good. I’m loving the classic French stuff these days. I’ll have to try this recipe. It looks too good not to.
Thanks so much Amanda!!
I love Boeuf Bourguinon especially now that the weather has chilled out! Very hearty, filling and warm meal Suzanne!
Thanks so much yes it is the perfect cool weather meal!
I’ve been meat free for a few months now but this recipe is making me swoon in my heart a bit. Temptations, temptations! Looks great lady!
Thanks Pamela so you are vegetarian now! Good for you and you certainly have the best veggies to pick from! Thanks so much!
Oooh, this dish makes my mouth water, Suzanne!

:)sorry about the spelling! Just spotted it. x
I corrected it I knew what you meant. No worries. Thank you!
Thank you! I was too quick! x
I’m way behind in my blog reading and now I’m sad I didn’t see this before I went shopping! I could certainly spend all day stuffing my face with this little bowl of yum! 🙂
Thanks so much Matt, good to see you!!
That sauce does look so dark and rich Suzanne. I tried making the Boeuf Bourgiunon from the Juilia Child book– too complicated!! With the cool weather (finally!!!) coming in– this looks perfect. thanks.
Sorry I just saw this Rhonda, thank you so much. There are a few steps to making this but I think my adaptation is a bit less complicated. Thanks so much.
Love your recipes Suzanne– always bright and feel like the best part of home.
