Holiday Gift Baskets And Some Biscotti For Fiesta Friday #98
It’s the most wonderful time of the year, the first line and title of Andy Williams great Holiday song. It’s also the busiest time of the year. As a general rule I don’t really buy gifts for most friends or relatives, I am not a grinch really I just prefer to make my gifts at least for the adults, clients and friends.
I make the same cookies pretty much every year along with mini loaves of banana or other fruit loaves, including fruit cake. I always add a new cookie recipe or two to the line up, last year was a chocolate thumbprint with a hershey’s white striped kiss on it. This year I am adding biscotti, a wonderful recipe from Fida and her lovely blog Sweet and Savory Pursuits. I love biscotti, they are crunchy and I am a sucker for anything that can be dipped.
Since I am in the throes of Holiday baking I decided to bring some biscotti to Fiesta Friday this week. Angie decked the halls making for a beautiful and festive party. We have two brand new co-hosts this week Sadhna @ Herbs, Spices, and Traditions and Natalie @ Kitchen, uncorked.
Even you biscottis look incredible. Happy Holidays!
Thanks Michelle, dipped in some vin santo, YUM!!
Now you’re talking!
Beautiful Biscotti! John doesn’t think he likes biscotti because he tried a commercial piece once and it was dry. I’ll give these a try and change that crazy mans mind.
You have your work cut out for you don’t you with John. Dip the biscotti in some hot coffee, cafe au lait or cappuccino and it’s pretty heavenly, Maybe even John would like. LOL, thanks Julie.
And…I love your little stickers!
Thank you!!
The Fiesta will be fantastic with your baked goods, Suzanne. I loved the little Pug in the Kitchen stickers! Wishing you a fabulous Friday! Mega hugs

Thank you, Oh that sounds great. I want to make some chocolate biscotti with hazelnut and orange. Love the combination and trying to find a recipe for the chocolate ones.
😀
Yes and I had made them last year too! They’re a favorite here! Santa has plenty of cookies this year LOL
Thats great, thanks Cheryl yep would say Santa will have a sugar high from all the cookies!!
LOL yes we all will for sure! Have a great weekend my friend.
I like biscotti so much that I even had a party for my daughter-in-law and three of her friends. I gave them each 2 recipes to bring the ingredients for. We spent the day making and baking them. Then everyone got to take home quite an assortment of cookies. I have only posted one recipe but I should post the others some time. Search “biscotti” on my site and you will see a picture of us and our cookies 🙂
Thank you Judi, I will check that out. It is fun baking or cooking with friends and family. I bet you made some amazing cookies.
Adding this to my ever-growing to-bake list! These biscotti look amazing and I would love to try making one so I can dip them into coffee!
Thanks Jasline, yes I don’t even like to think about my list, one day I will get around to making everything. Oh dipping in coffee is the best.
It is that special time of the year! I really appreciate your thoughtful idea of giving homemade gifts. I think, I can see almonds, pistachios, but I cannot tell what the dark colored ingredients is. Chocolates? Am I close? For the last three years I enjoy seeing what you’ll make for the Holiday Season! It is lovely to see your pugs are always part of your kitchen. Happy Holidays, Sweet Lady! ❤
Hi Fae, thank you so much. the dark colored ingredient is dried cranberries. No chocolate in these but I have some cranmerries and cherries covered in dark chocolate that I think would be pretty amazing in these biscotti. My sweet pugs will always be with me in spirit. Thank you so much.
They are just too delicious-looking! I made biscotti last year, but I wasn’t too impressed with the result. Yours look amazing and have convinced me to give them another chance! Any excuse for another cup of coffee, really …
These were great, they tasted wonderful. as a matter of fact I am making more next week. Thanks so much Ginger.
Wow the biscotti look amazing!!
Thank you so much.
Oh, I just LOVE good biscotti. With Vin Santo, they’re one of my favorite desserts! These look marvelous, Suzanne! Are you feeling festive? xo
Thanks Em, I want to find a recipe for chocolate biscotti, I love them too with vin santo, coffee or milk or tea. Any tasty liquid with which to dip them in.
Looks lovely and how nice that you make these amazing gifts for people! I am sure they are very excited to have yummy and beautiful gifts!
Thanks Lynn, I hope they like the gifts. LOL.
I think homemade gifts are incredibly special Suzanne. Just last year I started making some baked goods for friends and family. Your biscotti looks just wonderful! Your gift recipients are very lucky 🙂
Thanks Heather, I love getting and giving homemade gifts, it is a gift from the heart .
Just wanted to make sure you have my physical address. No? Oh well, I’ll check out the blog you’ve linked to as I’ve always wanted to try making biscotti.
LOL, Johnny I would but I would be nervous, you are such an incredible cook I would be afraid of falling short. I am going to make some more, leaving out the dried fruit, trying to find a recipe for chocolate biscotti. They were incredibly easy to make and so good. Thanks Johnny.
Suzanne, your Biscotti sound perfect and I love that crunch. I agree with you so good dip in a hot drink! 🙂
Yes for sure Linda. thank you.
Wow! the biscotti looks scrumptious , Suzanne! I love anything that can be dipped too 😀
Me too Freda, thank you so much.
Beaut biscotti Mrs P and a home baked gift is a wondrous thing indeed.
Thank you so much!!
So much thought and love went into those individual gifts Suzanne, I can just tell. Beautiful biscotti addition. Love those wrappers and stickers. I used to love handing out home-made gifts at one time too, but alas I don’t do those anymore. I made some beautiful, yet simple festive bark that I blogged about, it would make for a lovely gift, together with some dishcloth scrubbers that I recently knitted, but I just haven’t been motivated these days. Perhaps your post will inspire me? 🙂
Hi Loretta, thank you so much, truth be told, I am not in the mood. This Christmas is hard for me and I am kind of forcing myself to do things. I bet your handmade gifts were wonderful and that those that received them were so happy and thankful. I have to look at your recipe for the bark, I was thinking about that just yesterday. Have to make 2 gift baskets for teachers. You gave me an idea now. Thank you.
Anything to dip in tea or coffee is good enough for me. Your biscotti looks fantastic. You are such a good cook and sweet lady.
I also have to force myself to get into the spirit , it was last year Christmas that my mom passed away. Maybe I make your biscotti.
Gerlinde, I know you lost your Mom around the holidays and I am so sorry. You know it is to go through the motions but the heart is just not there. I wish you a very Happy Holiday, with love and comfort, and maybe some biscotti to dip.
Thank you Suzanne
Lucky clients!!!!
Thanks Elaine!!
What gorgeous biscotti! It’s been ages since I’ve made biscotti but I love them, the baking process and the eating! Love your gorgeous gift wrapping and those blog stickers – the illustrations are beautiful. Wishing you a blessed festive season Suzanne xox
Thanks so much Laura, I haven’t seen a post from you in a while, I hope you are well and thank you.
The gift baskets are adorable, love the stickers in them. Love biscotti!!

Yum! I’ve been trying out a few biscotti recipes lately too Suzanne… these ones look delicious!
Love this recipe, one day I will cut evenly some were too thick but still came out great. I have bookmarked a few chocolate biscotti recipes, still looking for one that jumps out at me. If you have a good one let me know. Thanks Margot.
Our favourite so far has cranberries, macadamia nuts and small chunks of white chocolate through it – very moreish! 🙂

Happy Holidays to you also, thank you so much.
I love biscotti, they are perfect with a cup of strong coffee to dip them in and a glass of chilled sweet wine!Oh, it makes me miss Italy! What a lovely treat 🙂
Yes with coffee and sweet wine is such a great way to enjoy the biscotti. It really is a lovely indulgence. Thanks Petra.
That is some lovely biscotti! I have trouble getting mine so wide, so I am going to do some comparing to your proporations! The bags, the stickers, everything! Wow!
Thank you so much. I have fun packaging the cookies with my little pug stickers. Thank you so much.
I really want to learn how to make biscotti someday. Yours look so pretty! Are they very difficult? Whoever gets your gift baskets are very fortunate!
The biscotti are great I am making another batch and they are easy. You should try making them. I am going to add chocolate instead of the cranberries tomorrow!!
